About Me

Hmmm… about me… Where do I start?

My Name is Trisha… I have 1 husband, 2 pit-bulls and 5 cats (don’t judge me, the last 2 adopted us, not the other way around).

By day, I work for a Photo Booth manufacturing and rental company (thus the photo strip).  You know those cool steel booths you see in malls and at weddings? Yeah, we make those.  It’s a pretty cool gig.

I’ve learned to read at 3 and have been more than a little obsessed with books ever since!  I read everything from Jane Austen to Chuck Palahnik to Sara Dessen.  It really just depends on my mood and what strikes my fancy:-)

I started blogging in August 2015 for a few reasons, but my reasons for continuing evolve and multiply every day.  The only reason I even knew book blogging was even a thing was that I stumbled upon NetGalley (where most of us get our advanced copies) in a random google search.  Since then, my blog has turned into a great outlet for me.  It’s a fabulous escape from my every-day life, plus, I get to read books, gush about them, and talk about book-related topics as much as my little heart desires.  How cool is that?!  What I didn’t expect was the community.  The great thing about blogging is that no matter what your topic, there’s a huge community, both inside and outside your field that are always friendly and always building one another up.  It’s a beautiful thing.

The Books (and the room):

Not that anybody cares, but my “book room” has yellow walls and green curtains (thus the name of the blog) and over 1,200 books ranging from your typical soft-back fiction to leather-bound classics to a 1st edition set of “The Great Books of the Western World” (my prized posession). 

 Outside of REALLY special books (ie: my Harry Potter books that I waited in line for on release day,) the vast majority of my books were acquired second-hand. 

 Anybody that knows me knows that I can go on for hours about living in Maryland and how’d I’d pretty much rather be anywhere else, BUT, to a bibliophile such as myself, it does have its benefits.  I mainly get my books from two places:

 Ultimate nerd confession: I have an excel spreadsheet that documents all the books I own, what format they’re in, whether I’ve read them, and where I acquired them.  I’m working on transferring this list over to GoodReads, but it’s taking FOR-EV-ER.
