Confessions of a Potterholic #4: Presents for Those with a Proclivity for Potter

Hello! My name is Trisha, and I’m a Potterholic!

It’s that time of year again!  It’s time for Christmas trees, lights, getting together with family and friends, and of course giving presents!

Do you have that one (or several) person in your life that you just can’t figure out a good gift for? Do they like Harry Potter? Then, this is the post for you! In this month’s Potterholic installment, we’re going to talk about the perfect gift for that Potter-obsessed person in your life.

*Ten points for Gryffindor if you got the reference in the title*

There are two major books that ingratiated themselves into the Potterverse this year that would make fan-freaking-tastic Christmas (or Hanukkah, Kwanza, General non-descript winter-time holiday, etc) gifts!

  1. The Official Harry Potter Coloring Book

Adult coloring books have been absolutely huge this year, so imagine my hysterics when I found out there was going to be an adult coloring book that’s fully devoted to Harry Potter!  Well kids, it’s out now (currently out of stock on Amazon) and is sure to make it to the top of any Potterhead’s holiday wishlist.

*Side Note: There’s another one coming out in March!*

2. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone: Illustrated Edition

24490481For the first time, the Harry Potter series will be re-released in illustrated editions.  This baby has over 100 full color illustrations that depict our favorite scenes from the book that introduced us to the world of Harry Potter.  Another must-have for any Potter fan. Find it on Amazon here

There’s all kinds of apparel, jewelry, etc that are dedicated to Harry Potter and its die-hard fandom.  Here are a couple of my favorites:

  1. Hermione’s Time Turner necklace from Prisoner of AzkabanmDmXoJrOuPL0xqf-7RqRpKQ

This thing is just beautiful.  There’s a bunch of different versions of the time turner necklace floating around, but the original can be found at The Harry Potter Shop along with matching earrings, watch, etc.

2. “Harry Potter Generation” Hoodieil_570xN.701136595_iewk

Again, there’s a lot of hoodies like this on a ton of different sites, but this etsy shop has this, and some other Potter-esque wearables.  This one in particular actually made me tear up a little the first time I saw it. Here’s a close up of the graphic:

For the Home:

Ok, so this is my favorite part because these are the items that inspired this entire post.  Any self-respecting potterhead would love to decorate their home in Potter memorabilia, but alas, most of us are unable to do so without annoying those we live with.  Here are some items that we may be able to get away with:

  1. The Marauder’s Map Bedding Set from Hot Topic

Alright, so, most of us probably wouldn’t be able to get away with this (at least, those of us who are married), but damn if we don’t want it anyway!

2. Harry Potter Candles

I’m a sucker for candles!  I saw these on Facebook some time ago and have been dying to get my hands on them ever since.  Apparently, I’m not the only one because ever since they went viral on social media, these babies have been selling out quicker than the poor girl that runs this shop can make them! But even if you can’t get your grubby little mitts on the candles, there’s an absolute plethora of other potter-themed goodies that will make the potter fan in your life jump for joy (and possibly knock over the Christmas tree).

I got my sister the coloring book when it came out in November and she went nuts for it (she’s 37). I never realized adult coloring was a thing but she is super into it. I highly second that the coloring book is an amazing book.
